What happens when the compassion of Christ seeks out a sinner and calls them to Himself? They leave behind all their earthly treasures for Him. Here we see in Jesus' encounter with Zacchaeus that our Savior came to seek and save lost sinners. We are encouraged to see lost sinners around us and have the same compassion toward them as He has towards us.

The cry of mercy to the Son of David is one He loves to hear and answer. Here we see Christ's compassion on those who acknowledge their spiritual poverty and His provision.
