In this message, we are charged to remember whose we are and where we're headed. We consider our place in God's heart and our place in this world. The God who chose us also gave us new birth by the Spirit and has prepared for us a glorious inheritance on which we can set our hope.
Our trials as believers often seem random, pointless, and endless. Peter helps us see that they are guided by our loving and sovereign God to test and purify our faith in Him. The outcome of genuine faith when tested will result in God's praise and glory at Christ's return.
If we've been born again to a living hope which will be revealed at Christ's return, then how should we think and live during this time? We are exiles on a journey and we should set our hope on Christ's return and live as God's holy and obedient children passing through this world.
